Mixed Millets Flour, multi millets powder, healthy mix powder, millets energy powder or sathu maavu whatever we call it this is one amazing recipe with different types of millets to make one energy mix powder or sathu maavu as it's mostly known as. This is very easy recipe just take millets of choice and grind to make powder or flour.


This millet flour is of course gluten-free, vegan as such with healthy benefits of all the different millets like Pearl Millet, Finger Millet, Foxtail Millet, Kodo Millet, Little Millet, Barnyard Millet and Sorghum. Apart from these  millets we can also add porso, barley, horse gram, sago, green gram, yellow moong dal, almonds, cashewnuts, peanuts etc to make this flour/powder more healthy. This healthy mix powder can we use to make porridge in sweet or savory version, dosa, ladoo or anything that we fancy. Having flour in hand is very handy and it helps in a good breakfast or snack fix and which he very healthy & nutritious whether it's for kids or adults.

Mixed Millets Flour (Powder) | Sathu Maavu Recipe

Vegan, gluten-free, healthy home made flour with different millets.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 Kg - Finger Millet/Nachani/Ragi
  • 1/4 Kg - Kodo Millet/Kodra/Varagu
  • 1/4 Kg - Foxtail Millet/Kangni/Thinai
  • 1/4 Kg - Little Millet/Kutki/Saamai
  • 1/4 Kg - Barnyard Millet/Sama/Kuthiravali
  • 1/4 Kg - Pearl Millet/Bajra/Kambu
  • 1/4 Kg - Sorghum/Jowar/Cholam

Method:

  1. Clean the millets to check for any debris, organic millets are normally clean we don't have to anything with them.
  2. Lay a clean cloth or plastic sheet in open area getting ample of Sun light, spread millets on cloth and keep under Sun light for a day. Or heat a wide pan or kadai and dry roast one by one each millets until millets slightly changes color in medium to low flame.
  3. Allow roasted millets to cool and you can grind millets in flour mill or grind in mixer into fine powder. Sieve and store in air tight container, stay fresh for 3-4 months minimum if stored and handle properly.

Notes
  • Do roast the millets or keep under Sun before grinding.
  • You can also add barley, horse gram, green gram (moong dal), yellow moong dal, corn, sago too to make this flour more nutritious.
  • You can make this mixed millets flour in large quantity too.
