Step – By – Step Instructions To Make Pink Beetroot Raita

Step 1: Prepare the Beetroot 

  • Wash the beetroot and peel it.
  • Grate it.
  • If you want a crunchier texture, then use raw beetroot. But if you want to soften it, you can either boil it for 5 minutes or you can sauté it in oil for 2 to 3 minutes. 

Step 2: Whisk the Yogurt 

  • Whisk curd for creamy texture. 
  • Add species like roasted cumin powder, black pepper, black salt. 
  • Mix well and continue whisking. 

Step 3: Mix Beetroot and Yogurt

  • Take beetroot and now mix it with the yogurt.

Step 4: Optional Veggies

  • If you want to add more flavour then add other veggies like bell pepper, carrot, onion. 

Step 5: Optional Tempering (Tadka)

  • Add one tablespoon of oil in a heat pan.
  • Add curry leaves, chopped green chilli. 
  • Pour this tadka into the raita. 

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

  • Garnish the raita with fresh coriander.
