Godhuma Kudumulu Bellam Kudumulu or Godhumai vella kozhukattai is easy, healthy kudumulu or kozhukattai recipe using wheat flour where here I have used multi grain flour. Kudumulu is Andhra traditional prasadam during Vinayagar Chavithi and the same is known as kozhukattai in Tamilnadu. I have already posted the Rice flour kudumulu and this year presenting wheat flour kudumulu which is yummy and easy to prepare.



We are few more days away from Ganesh Chaturthi and most of you must be planning what to prepare and if you have difficult in shaping modak or kozhukattai then try these kudumulu it's one of the best bet as we don't have to worry about shaping and still the taste is yum. Bappa will be happy for sure :)

I did one extra step of pressing kudumulu on coconut and then steaming you can do this or skip it's your wish, the kudumulu still taste delicious. So happy to getting into my zone of blogging again and that's too for Ganesh chathurthi is really special. Godhuma Bellam Kudumulu | Wheat Kudumulu Recipe

Sweet Kudumulu with wheat flour, jaggery. Traditional Andhra Naivedyam recipe for Ganesh Chaturthi.i

Yields:7-8 pieces


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cups - Wheat flour (I used Multi Grain Flour)
  • 1 Cup - Water
  • 1/4 cup - Jaggery Powder
  • 1 tbsp - Fresh Coconut Pieces
  • 1/2 tsp - Fresh Cardamom Powder
  • 1 tsp - Ghee
  • 2 tbsp - Fresh Grated Coconut (optional)

Method:

  1. Roast wheat flour for 2-3 minutes on low to medium flame till fragrant, stir non-stop to avoid flour from getting burn. and keep aside.
  2. Wheat-Kudumulu-recipe
  3. In a pan or kadai boil water add jaggery and cook until jaggery gets dissolves. Strain the syrup and bring it back to pan (I didn't strain as my syrup was clean).
  4. Add coconut pieces, cardamom powder, roasted wheat flour and work quickly to mix well to combine everything without any lumps. If there's any lumps break it with back of ladle

  6. Off flame and keep dough aside for 5-6 mins to cool a bit. Now add 1 tsp ghee and knead dough well to form smooth ball. Divide into equal portion and roll into balls.
  7. Wheat-Kudumulu-recipe
  8. Flatten prepared dough balls between palms, in a bowl or plate take grated coconut and press kudumulu to stick coconut on one side, repeat this for all. This add coconut on top if optional step you can miss.
  9. Heat a steamer or idli cooker with water, grease idli plates with oil and arrange prepare kudumulu on it. Steam for 10-12 mins or until they are cooked.

Notes
  • I used multi grain flour, you can use regulat wheat flour.
  • Add wheat flour to boiling water and keep mixing non-stop to prevent lumps
  • Keep the dough always covered and knead every now and then with greased hands to prevent from drying if making large batch.
  • Coconut pieces and cardamom adds crunch and flavor so don't skip them.
